Minimum Entry Requirements

• an initial degree of the University of Wales, or another approved degree awarding body

• a non-graduate qualification which the University deems to be of a satisfactory standard for the purpose of post-graduate admission

For students whose first language is not English, the required standard on the programme is as follows:

• Level B2 of the Common European Framework (CEFR) or equivalent

• Below C1 of the Common European Framework (CEFR) or equivalent the student has to do EAP

• IELTS 6.5

• Availability of course will be dependent on group size.

• All assessments are subject to approval

Applicants who have previously been awarded academic credits at level seven, or who have appropriate experiential learning, may seek exemption from elements of the MBA programme provided they are able to evidence that the prior certificated or experiential learning is equivalent to the modules for which they are seeking exemption.

BTEC Level Professional qualifications in Strategic Management and Leadership are designed to provide focused and specialist vocational short courses, linked to professional body requirements and National Occupational Standards where appropriate, with a clear work-related emphasis. The qualifications provide short vocational programmes of study that meet the individual needs of learners. There is a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding in the sector. They are particularly suitable for more mature learners who wish to follow a short programme of study that is directly related to their work experience or to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in due course. On successful completion of these qualifications, national recognition by employers enables learners to progress into or within employment and/ or continue their study in the vocational area.

Minimum Entry Requirements

A student must fulfil at least one of the following criteria to be allowed entry to the programme:

• Possession of the BTEC Advanced Professional Award or Advanced Professional Certificate.

• Possession of an honours degree in a related subject

• Possession of a level 6 qualification from another internationally recognised awarding body

• Five years senior management experience (students must check with Blake Hall College regarding this experience prior to registering for the course)

• Level B2 of the Common European Framework (CEFR) or equivalent in every category

• Availability of course will be dependent on group size

• All assessments are subject to approval

12 months.

 

Assessment

All units within these qualifications are internally assessed. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes. To achieve a "pass" a learner must have successfully passed all the assessment criteria.
